did you know that some numbers are actually illegal under US law?
Their binary forms represent executable files that are banned under US law (for example, DeCSS). Therefore, certain numbers are actually illegal.

If there was a president of Anime I would vote for Daryl Surat
Lately I've been listening a lot to this track, "In Anticipation of Your Insight into the Future". It's basically about 5 to 7 japanese music tracks (including the getter robo intro, which is awesome), book-ended by two intros read by, among others, Clarissa Graffeo of Anime World Order fame set to classical music. It's basically awesome.
I really like a lot of Patrick Macias' stuff, both in his blog and his books. I like his style of writing a lot, there's this aesthetic to it that really just i think is really cool. The whole Ministry of Darkness thing... it's really great. The only book I have of his is the Japanese Pulp Cinema one, which is both really great as a resource and a really interesting field in a lot of ways. I should get more - especially Japanese Schoolgirl Inferno, that will prolly be awesome.
I've also been thinking about why, exactly, I think Daryl Surat is so awesome. It's becoming dangerous, it's reached epic proportions. I like all the people on all the podcasts I listen to (well, I'm pretty sure Rym and Scott are at least a little arrogant, and Gerald is a bit of a dick). But Daryl Surat is incredibly funny and also incredibly knowledgeable and also gives really good reviews. I don't know, I guess I can't explain it. whatever.
We've been reading Hemingway in class, and that's another thing the aesthetic of which I like. It's just really spare and sparse, but it provides this really bright picture of just life. I like the picture that it paints, in many ways, and I like the way it paints it. That symbolism stuff is just gravy.

Emergency Packages
My suggestions for emergency packages for various contingencies.
ZOMBIE ASSAULT
Clothing - Leather jack, zipped up. Boots. Kneepads, optional. flexible pants with lots of pockets - the problem is you want flexibility, but also tight fit. flexibility is probably more important.
On person - carrying crowbar. machete and pistol on hips.
In pack - standard - collapsable shovel, rations, matches, lighter, iodine pills, medicine and first aid, seeds might be useful and they're always low space. Rifle slung over shoulder.
APOCALPYSE - breakdown of government/society
soft, comfortable jacket, flexible pants, comfortable shoes.
Carrying walking stick - needs to be strong, can be used as weapon/stick. pistol on one hip, bag of food (jerky, grain, similar). machete somewhere.
Pack - standard, with more seeds and maybe a few books (used as currency?)

Megatokyo
I gotta say, the latest megatokyo annoyed me. more so than usual, i mean.
Megatokyo has a lot of flaws. For one thing, it's pretty much avowedly a dating sim, which brings some problems to characteristics (or not problems, perhaps, so much as they are going to be retreading tropes). For another, it's never really funny - the worst parts of the comic are those where it seems to try to be (Largo, that robot girl, etc.). But in general the story is still pretty engaging, even though it is melodrama, so I continue reading it.
This latest one definitely annoyed me, though. It seemed to ascribe to a model of relationships that really seems to me to be not true. Maybe that's overstating it a little; let me explain what I mean.
Piro usually seems to be a realistic character. He's consistently written - maybe the things he does aren't things I would do, but they are things Piro would do (and yes I know that's a tautology and you know what I mean). Hell, even the beginning of this latest strip makes sense. Even if he's going to stand up for himself, he'll do it quietly. But after that... i think that that is something that only happens in songs. I think it's bullshit. maybe i'm wrong, maybe i'm right, but I don't see Nanakawakanakaknakaknak or Piro doing what they do.
What fuckin ever.
In other news nothing new is happening, the boolean stuff is still true. I got a haircut, i guess. thatttts life

WHO IS RANDALL STUCKEY?
so i was going to make some big long post about boolean algebra and females, but then i didn't do it immediately, and now i'm tired and i have to do work and shit. suffice it to say it would have been extremely, extremely geeky and emo and shit like that. i could probably talk about my personal life but i dont think anyone would care or if they would that i would want to say anything or would have anything to say.
listening to anime world order. Daryl Surat is my motherfucking god. seriously, the man is a genius. He is doing a sort of gonzo journalism thing at an anime convention, the title of the segment is "The Modern Japanese Animation Convention is Decadent and Depraved".
Also liek Patrick Macias. and people like that are cool too.
There's a surprsing surfeit of information on the net about some things, though. like randall stuckey. I always find oblique references to him, but no specific things. He is like John goddamn Galt. Taht would be interesting, a parody of Atlas Shrugged in anime fandom.
I don't want to do my work. I have an outline and an essay to do. Son of a bitch.
